Laid back 30A Coastal Getaway- 5 Day Itinerary
Florida’s 30A coastline is where sugar-white sand meets pastel charm, and somehow, everything just feels slower in the best way. Whether you’re staying in Rosemary Beach, nearby Seacrest, or tucked into the cozy corners of WaterColor, this area is a haven for family travel.
Here’s a five-day itinerary that blends beach time, local eats, light adventure, and space to slow down. It’s built for families who want to make memories without over-scheduling their days. Think: relaxed mornings, fresh seafood, evening bike rides, and plenty of time barefoot in the sand.
Day 1: Settle In + Sunset Strolls
Morning/Afternoon:
Check in, get your bearings, and take a slow stroll (or bike ride) through Rosemary Beach. Let the kids run around the green spaces or play by the fountains while you peek into a few boutiques.
Lunch:
Start your trip fresh at Raw & Juicy. Their smoothies, bowls, and pressed juices are light and nourishing perfect post-travel fare.
Afternoon:
Unpack and head to the beach or the pool. Whether you’re oceanside or in a rental with community amenities, take it easy and enjoy that first deep breath of salt air.
Dinner:
Make your first evening feel special with dinner at La Crema. Their tapas are perfect for sharing, and the chocolate fondue is basically required and fun for the kids.
Evening:
Walk down to the beach for sunset or cruise the neighborhood on bikes. Rosemary glows at night, especially with string lights, quiet paths, and that golden light bouncing off the stucco buildings.

Day 2: Boutiques, Biking & Big Chill Fun
Morning:
Fuel up with coffee and breakfast at Fonville Press. This Alys Beach café is a local favorite known afor great coffee, a cute market, and kid-friendly bites. It’s a great morning ride or quick drive away.
Late Morning:
Check out the local Farmers Market (if it’s a weekend) or enjoy some time by the water. Whether it’s beach time or poolside lounging, let the afternoon unfold slowly. There are Farmers Markets that can be found in Rosemary Beach, Seaside and other local communities up and down 30A Highway.
Lunch:
While you are in Seaside stop for lunch at Great Southern Café. Their shrimp and grits are famous, but they also have plenty of kid-approved picks and be sure to swing by the airstreams to pick you up a Froze (Frozen Rose)!
Afternoon:
Go shopping! Swing by Gigi’s in Rosemary Beach for kid-friendly finds, Willow + Mercer for stylish accessories and gifts and then head to Seaside for some of their must see shops. Browse Duckies for toys and beachy treasures, and I love Cabana Seaside for high end resort wear.
Dinner + Evening Fun:
Head to The Big Chill for dinner. With a lawn for kids to run around, live music or movies, and food stalls with something for everyone (pizza, burgers, tacos—you name it), it’s an easy win for families. The Big Chill is definitely doable on a bike distance wise from Rosemary or Seacrest area. We have used Peddlers 30A for bike rentals and they have always been great.

Day 3: Alys + Beachy Bliss
Morning:
Spend the morning exploring Alys and the local trails, parks, and beautiful shaded walkways. This area is perfect for slower-paced adventuring, and there are plenty of quiet spots for little legs to rest.
Lunch:
Treat yourself to a rooftop lobster roll lunch at Pescado. It’s a little more elevated, but still family-welcoming, especially if you go early. The views are absolutely worth it.
Afternoon:
Settle in for a long, lazy beach day. Build sandcastles, hunt for shells, boogie board—or just sit with your toes in the sand and watch the waves.
Dinner:
Keep it casual with Pizza by the Sea for dinner. It’s easy, crowd-pleasing, and great for takeout if you want to picnic on the beach or back at your rental.
Evening:
Back at your rental, enjoy a slow night in—board games, a movie, or stargazing from the porch. Or opt for a beach bonfire in the evening and roast marshmallows, watch the sunset and catch crabs as a family.
Day 4: Adventure + Chill
Morning:
Consider an off-the-beaten-path adventure today: While the water is calm in the morning, maybe rent paddle-boards or a kayak at one of the coastal rental shops.
Lunch:
Stop at George’s for their Lobster Roll or quesadilla and their Fish Sandwich is delicious. They also have great brunch cocktails.
Afternoon:
This is a great day to revisit your favorite beach or catch up on things you may have missed.
Dinner:
Alys beach has some great upscale options which we always love. Citizen in Alys Beach for a beautiful sit-down meal or cocktails and small plates if you’re feeling fancy. O-Ku is a great option for some unbelievable sushi
Evening:
Take one last bike ride or sunset walk—those golden-hour moments are worth soaking up as often as you can.

Day 5: Slow Morning + Sweet Send-Off
Morning:
Take your time packing, but don’t miss one last beach stroll or coffee run. Amavida Coffee is always a good send-off stop for road trip snacks and goodbye treats.
Brunch or Early Lunch:
Head back to Cowboy Kitchen or grab some acai bowls to-go at Playa Bowls and have one final stroll on the beach or around the square.
Before You Go:
Snap a few last family photos, let the kids pick a souvenir, and maybe tuck away a shell or two for your memory box.
Final Thoughts
Rosemary Beach and its 30A neighboring towns have a way of slowing down time. From chocolate-dipped dessert nights to barefoot mornings and seaside bike rides, it’s the kind of place that doesn’t just give you a break, it fills your cup.
And if you’re already dreaming of your return trip? You’re not alone. I would love to help you find your next perfect 30A beach rental for your next trip!
