There can be so many different character dining options at Disney World. It can be overwhelming and get expensive! Many of the Character Dinings can be hard to snag including this one. Luckily though, this particular has become easier to book in the past year. Let’s take a look at why this is my family’s favorite character dining option!
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White
This particular Dining experience is in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. Inspired by turn-of-the-century National Park lodges, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge celebrates American craftsmanship and honors the beauty of the untamed wilderness. It is the perfect setting for this character dining and the resort its self is grand and very fun to explore.
Characters
Guest can savor a delicious dinner that the whole family will love—with appearances from Disney Characters from the Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. You’ll find Snow White, Evil Queen, Dopey, and Grumpy at Artist Point’s Storybook Dining. Snow White and the Dwarfs meet guests at their tables, while Evil Queen is at a staged photo op in the middle of the restaurant.
The characters were very interactive and Grumpy had us all laughing when he told my husband he was just like him “Grumpy” too! Ha! The Evil Queen had my son a little intimidated because she played her roll so well, but was still very entertaining.
Dinner
Begin the storybook-themed dining experience with shared appetizers including Hunter’s Terrine, Wild Mushroom Bisque and Wicked Shrimp Cocktail. All of which my family loved.
Dinner Menu can include an entrée from a prix fixe menu. Feast on the Royal Prime Rib Roast, Brother’s Grimm Herbed Chicken, Magic Mirror’s Slow-braised Pork Shank, Beef Stroganoff and Bashful’s Butter Poached Sustainable Fish. They also have a vegetarian option as well. Children can choose from a selection of kid-friendly items, including Royal Prime Rib Roast, Grilled Chicken or Princess Pasta. I have one picky eater and he still had an option with the grilled chicken which he enjoyed.
They have creative and fun cocktails (and mocktails) which were delicious and strong might I add, and offer an assortment of wine, bottled beers and on draft.
Base price will run you $65 for adults and $39 for children. It can get pricey if you are expecting to have a few adult beverages along with your meal. You are able to use your Disney Dining Plan which 2 Table-Service meals will be redeemed from the dining plan for each person dining.
Atmosphere
The atmosphere at Story Book Dining at Artist Point is a setting out of a movie. With twinkling lights and forest themed serving platters you fill like you are stepping into a Story Book! It plays the part of a secluded glade that is the perfect setting for an enchanted forest!
It’s dark but magical and leaves you wondering what it would be like to live amongst the forest creatures and the seven dwarfs! My family has a whole were very impressed with the setting and feel of the restaurant.
Overall Thoughts
Overall, we thought the food was great, the atmosphere fantastic and we would go back again and again! My son still talks about the character interactions even 6 months later. Both of my children (12 and 5) truly enjoyed the experience.
